Accommodation

VISual Arts is based in the heart of the port of the old town of Vis. We are a minute's walk from the ferry and the lively bustle of great local bars and restaurants. We're also only a short stroll from the beach, or from the start of some spectacular walking country.

Our stone townhouse dates to the middle of the nineteenth century. It was built on what was once the edge of the necropolis of the ancient settlement of Issa. During renovation work builders stumbled upon a previously unknown grave of a high-class female citizen, which included some very interesting finds! See more...

The house has been ingeniously modernised by a local architect to accommodate up to six people in en-suite bedrooms, and also to provide plenty of communal guest space, as well as a working studio. There is a spacious terrace, leading down to lemon trees and an old donkey house: the perfect place for watching the evening swifts over a glass of vugava.

The artists' studio has been converted from the former konoba - the traditional workspace of the family home. This large, cool room continues to be a hive of activity!

Our 2-star bedrooms are light, airy and simply furnished. We have one twin and one double en suite, with provision to accommodate extra people, all rooms renovated to modern standards of comfort. There is free wi-fi throughout. We provide wash towels, eco-friendly mosquito repellant, and UK/EU adapter plugs (with phone-charging portal). And if there's anything else you need, just ask.

(Please note that our accommodation is not suitable for anyone who has problems with stairs.)
