Half-day Workshops - itinerary

We run Creative Workshops on Saturday mornings through the summer season (June to end of August)

 

Suitable for age 8+. Children must be accompanied by an adult also taking part in the workshop.

 

Maximum 8 persons per workshop.

Places can be booked in advance, or paid for on the door (availability allowing). They get snapped up quickly, so get in touch via our 'Booking' page to confirm we can fit you in.

All teaching is in English.

 

We generally follow this loose structure: 

​

• introduction, chance to meet others, discussion of the day's theme, with brief talk from host

• first art session (part one): in the studio - warm-up exercises, chance to play with materials, host sets certain tasks

• first art session (part two): out & about in town - looking, exploring, sketching, collecting

• break for refreshments

• second session: back in the studio - creating works from ideas and discoveries of earlier session

• debriefing discussion and relaxation

• handmade A6 sketchbook

• use of paper, pencils, pens, and many more artists' materials to choose from

• tutoring in fine art and art history

• local knowledge

• coffee & cakes
